As Marty Lechleider said in his previous blog “These are exciting times for HCL Leap customers.” Along with a brand new v9 of HCL Leap and an aggressive and exciting roadmap, we have introduced new, simplified pricing to help customers get started quickly and grow at their pace. HCL Leap allows technical, and non-technical, users the ability to quickly develop and deploy enterprise applications to help capture information, engage with customers and partners and employees and track and report on that information. It’s a tool that allows the “citizen developer” to interact with back-end services without code and drive digital transformation for their enterprise, customers, and partners. When we look at the value customers derive from HCL Leap it's the easy development and deployment, and eventual consumption, of applications. Some other low-code/no-code platforms focus on the developer and base the licensing around developers. We felt that this limits the audience as we have many organizations that have opened HCL Leap up to the entire enterprise. This allows all employees to develop applications that help improve processes, reduce errors and accelerate digital transformation. Some other platforms base licenses on the number of users. But what's a user? A developer of the form? A consumer of the form? Authenticated? Anonymous? What if I want to send a survey or questionnaire out to 30,000 of my customers to get feedback?
Let's not even discuss the use of hardware size... What's a PVU again? Sub-capacity planning? Virtualization? Cloud deployment? What about disaster recovery? High availability? We want you to have the flexibility to scale and distribute the deployment as needs change. The true value from HCL Leap is the lightweight enterprise applications derived from the tool. Therefore, with the introduction of HCL Leap v9 we also introduced three levels of application pricing: HCL Leap Entry is a great place for a small team or department who may have a couple identified applications and wants to get started quickly. HCL Leap Standard is for a smaller company or division that has multiple departments and wants to possibly open the use of the tool up to its citizen developers or even IT as the primary tool for application development. HCL Leap Enterprise is for an organization that is going to open the product up to the entire company and allows all users the ability to create and deploy applications across the enterprise without worry of licenses or how small/large the application is. There is no penalty or charge to move from Entry to Standard or Standard to Enterprise or even Entry to Enterprise. No need to re-install or reconfigure - we simply adjust the license server and pro-rate the remaining term. We also don't charge for high-availability or disaster recovery or clustering or even multiple data centers. You are free to run the solution on any size supported hardware in as many instances as you need. And, lastly, we don't have a per-user charge. You are free to open this up to your enterprise (or even your partners) to develop and consume the applications as the business needs. Whether users are authenticated or anonymous - it's in control of the application owners. This licensing model is in alignment with the value of HCL Leap - lightweight enterprise applications - while not penalizing for users or hardware. Please reach out and contact the HCL Leap sales team with any questions or if you need more information about HCL Leap and how it can transform your business and IT.
